Band Students and Parents,
There have been some questions regarding the game tomorrow and our attire for the performance. The band will be in full uniform for the performance. We have new uniforms! They are polyester and are made to be not too hot in warm weather. In the past we had wool uniforms, which when warn in 90 degree weather could be dangerous for our students. These new uniforms are made for this. Also, with the sun setting around 7:30 tomorrow, the temperature will drop dramatically. Inspection will be warm, however with good hydration and the water they receive after pre-game, we are confident our students are going to be fine.
As with any warm weather game or rehearsal, make sure students are well fed and hydrated prior to arriving to inspection. Students get light headed and face heat problems when they don’t have proper nutrition and hydration. They are free to bring water on the bus if they need to, as long as they dispose of their bottles. I, like you, want to make sure that we look our best, sound our best, and are keeping students safe.
See you all tomorrow night!
