Meeting on September 11
The North Olmsted Band and Orchestra Boosters (NOBOB) monthly meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017. The meeting will be held in the basement meeting room at the North Olmsted Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. There is an elevator to the Library’s basement.
This meeting is open to all who have an interest in the activities of NOBOB, whether you are a member of NOBOB or not. If you are interested in joining NOBOB, you can register and pay online through the following link: https://www.eaglemusic.org/shop/
Formal Wear
The High School Orchestra/Vocal Fall Concert is on Thursday, October 19. All members of the Orchestra will need to have their formal wear for the concert. A copy of the order form is attached.
Over the next two weeks, we will be measuring all of the Freshman (and any new) Band and Orchestra members for their “formal” wear for the concert season.
Next Wednesday, September 13, 2017, between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, we hope to get all the girls measured for their concert dresses. If your daughter is a Band member, she should be measured prior to the regular rehearsal on Wednesday. If your daughter is an Orchestra member, she should try to come to the Band Hall for measurement between 6:00 and 8:00. We do have a very limited number of used dresses that may be available for purchase at a discount. If your daughter already has her concert dress, please have her try it on to make sure that it still fits and is in good condition.
The boys will be measured for their shirts and tuxes on September 20. Again, new Band members should be measured between 5:00 and 6:00 and new Orchestra members should be measured between 6:00 and 8:00. If your son already has his tux shirt, cummerbund and bow tie, please have him try them on to make sure that everything still fits and is in good condition.
- Concert dresses are $60.
- Tuxedo Shirts are $15,
- Bow Ties are $5,
- Cummerbunds are $7.50.
REMINDER: even if you are not ordering any Band/Orchestra Accessories, ALL STUDENTS MUST PAY CLEANING FEES. (Cleaning fees may also be paid online at https://www.eaglemusic.org/shop/). Also, all costs for formal wear must be paid in full before the items will be given to the student. Buttons
Buttons are coming. The students ordered LOTS of buttons and we had to order more button making supplies. If your student didn’t get their order, it will be completed within the next week or two.
Alumni Band
Band Alumni are invited to join the Band on September 15. The game is against Avon and will be held at Westlake. If you know any alumni, please let them know. They can register by following this link.
Volunteer Opportunities
All parents/guardians have been invited to sign up to volunteer for a variety of activities. If you don’t want to or cannot chaperone or work concessions, please consider volunteering for the Two Bucks Event on October 15. We need gift baskets, items for gift baskets, appetizers, desserts and volunteers to sell raffle tickets and work the door. See our Sign-Up page for links to SignUpGenius.com.
We are also always in need of water, especially the smaller bottles, to give to the Band members at the Football games. Water donations can be dropped off at the Band Hall any Wednesday evening.
