Building a tradition of musical excellence

Invitation from Mr. Kalish — Open Discussion

NOBOB,

At the May 12th, NOBOB meeting I would like to have an open discussion about the vision and direction of the instrumental music program.  I would like to begin this discussion from my perspective as I come to a close on my first year here and then would like to lay out what I am currently thinking about the direction and vision of the program.  I then would like to have the open discussion about what NOBOB and you as individual parents hope for the program and lets see if we can bring our ideas together so that we are all on the same page.  Our two goals for this discussion should be to come out with a clear mission statement for the instrumental music program and to have a specific conversation about marching band and to address the concerns we have about this year and next year.

If you could, take some time to think about what you would like to see for this program and bring your list of concerns and ideas.  Most importantly, MY vision and direction for this program means nothing, only OUR vision does.  I look forward to this opportunity to discuss the future of the North Olmsted instrumental music program and to move forward with the continued development of a music program that meets the needs of our students.

Thank you,
Erik Kalish
