OMEA High School Band District Contest

The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will be attending the OMEA High School Band Contest on Saturday, March 11 at Westlake High School.

We need four chaperones for this event. The “Call” is at 9:00 a.m., which means the students need to be dressed in their formal wear and ready to go at 9:00 a.m.

To sign up to chaperone, please follow this LINK or copy and paste the following into your browser: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040D45ACA72EA64-chaperones3

This is a relatively easy “gig.” Chaperones should plan on being at the High School by 8:00 a.m. to assist with any last minute needs of the students. Usually, it involves getting the tuxes out of the uniform locker and into the hallway (the tuxes are on racks and the students know what to do). Chaperones may also have to provide some of the boys with bow ties or cummerbunds (those to are in labeled boxes in the locker). The students need to return those items when they return to the High School. Chaperones will ride the bus to Westlake High School, attend the competition, keep an eye on the students, return to the High School and make sure that the tuxes are properly hung and returned to the racks, which are then returned to the locker.

If you are unable to Chaperone, please consider attending the OMEA contest. It helps the students to have an audience. The Symphonic Band is scheduled to perform at 10:30 a.m. and the Wind Ensemble performs at 11:40 a.m.
